This lovely brooch depicts two monkey, one hanging playfully from a chain and the other sat on a bar, originally with a pearl at either side but no longer there. Amusing novelty brooches were popular in the Victorian and Edwardian periods with piece such as this being a fun way of someone expressing their personality. The monkeys in this brooch are decorated in beautiful Paste stones and set with cabochon red paste eyes. Crafted from 9ct Gold and Silver this brooch has been hand crafted in the Edwardian era and is the perfect novelty antique brooch to show of your whimsical side.
